Aguilar of the Gamera:
All eyes will be on Chief Denver District Judge Larry Naves on Wednesday as he takes arguments at an all-day hearing for and against giving ousted professor Ward Churchill his job back at the University of Colorado.
All eyes on Naves? That’ll make his robe slimy.
The judge has the option of ruling from [...]
Christina Hoff Sommers has a new piece on feminist “scholarship”:
Feminist misinformation is pervasive. In their eye-opening book, Professing Feminism: Education and Indoctrination in Women’s Studies (Lexington Books, 2003), the professors Daphne Patai and Noretta Koertge describe the “sea of propaganda” that overwhelms the contemporary feminist classroom. The formidable Christine Rosen (formerly Stolba), in her 2002 [...]
I’m off to the fetid swamp of power nation’s capital for a much needed break–in the meantime, check out the following links for an excellent roundup of political news, analysis, and events.

I wanted to take a moment and discuss some of the new and exciting things going on with MHD. As you may have noticed, over the last month our homepage has changed a bit: we’ve added a support tab, hot list section (which is useful to new visitors) and a feed from our YouTube channel. [...]
Last week the crew of the Motorhome Diaries was in New Hampshire to visit our friends in Keene and to attend the 2009 Porcupine Freedom Festival. While in Keene I was able to talk to Ian Freeman of Free Talk Live, which bills itself as 100% Pro-Liberty Talk Radio. Like me, Ian is a voluntaryist [...]
My first Twitter post is dated June 19, 2009. I had once sworn never to join Twitter. But I love it. For my purposes, it works fantastically. (I basically use it as a news feed.) But the tool is only as good as its users. I’ve seen plenty of Twitter nonsense as well.
I knew somebody [...]
When at our awesome Austin meetup over a month ago we sat down with Greg, Jenn, Austin, Kelsey, and Sunny who together make up the Barenaked Family. They were without doubt one of the coolest families we’ve yet crossed paths with in the 10 weeks that we’ve been on the road. They’re good people not [...]
The St. Pete Times provides a tiny amount on the Wart-featuring “documentary” on HBO June 29, Shouting Bores:
This sprawling documentary focuses on the most extreme combatants in the fight over free speech in America, throwing off a lot of heated rhetoric without much enlightenment. Recounting how former University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill lost his [...]
A couple of weeks ago eminent self-made gink JWP noticed this in the Elmwood IL (hometown of Ward Churchill) Shopper:
D-blog op “Mr. B” managed to infiltrate the redneck-rad meet ‘n’ agiteet. Here’s his report:
“At first I thought I had arrived late and they were cleaning up bullshit, but it turns out they were cleaning [...]
Surprising indeed, to anyone who knows me and my natural food obessions.
However, I’m happy to have it, as it is the only grocery store I’ve so far found within walking distance of my dorms. I’d never buy meat from Albertsons, as I’m sure it’s all factory-farmed, but I was able to find stonyfield farm greek yogurt – score! So far, my roommate and I have been to albertsons every day save one. Among my other Albertsons treasures: peaches, apples, sparkling water, hot chocolate mix, and a GIANT ceramic mug.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to do any cooking while I’m here. The difficulties of student housing! But I really can not complain, the rooms are amazingly nice. Not only are they quite large, but each room is equipped with both a mini fridge and a microwave. Luxuries that I’ve never found in a dorm room before!
