Join one of America’s best-known constitutional scholars on the very hot topic of gun control at the next LOTR happy hour in Denver! In addition to networking, great discussions and $5 burger/fries specials we will also be joined by special guest Rob Natelson of the Independence Institute. (learn more about Rob below!) Whether or not you are concerned with the Constitution this discussion will give you some great “ammo” when it comes to the gun debate. Is it right to ban or limit one’s right to own guns? LOTR will be joined by Ryan McMaken of the Ludwig Von Mises Institute next Wednesday for a fun discussion on how film and t.v. inaccurately describe Anarchy. Join liberty advocates from the Denver area for another fun night of happy hour and liberty-oriented discussion! Due to weather our speakers were rescheduled for this coming week (3/6). They will be discussing the recent civil unions bill that passed the senate, where they see it going and why they believe supporting liberty means supporting the passage of civil unions. More details: How do you respond when someone declares, “war is good for the economy”? Or that women get paid less than men for the same work? What about the guy who lists stats proving everything from the benefits of unions to how guns promote violence? Can you respond to these statements in a way that would appeal to those listening, or even the person you are conversing with? If we are to plant seeds as liberty activists we must take consideration of the statements we make. To learn important concepts related to Austrian Economics, the Liberty Philosophy and how to best communicate free market ideas, join the Liberty Empowerment Institute and Liberty on the Rocks for a fun, interactive liberty-workshop. Through group discussion, activities and short presentations, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of economics and philosophy in addition to how to utilize these arguments when communicating with others in today’s battle for liberty. Speakers TBD, but as always, there will be plenty of networking (assuming the storms stay at bay). We’ll be in the back room at Choppers Sports Grill (80 S. Madison) in Denver from 6-9 PM. Stop by anytime throughout the evening! Speakers usually begin around 7:15 and we like to kick things off with an activity or game around 6:30. February 22nd, 2013 \| Category: Events \| Leave a comment Small Crowd, Great Conversation Thanks to everyone who braved the snow storm to join us at Denver Liberty on the Rocks last Wednesday! We did have to cancel our speakers (they will be rescheduled!) but a great time was had by all either way. With 11 people sitting around a big table we had discussions ranging from gun rights to life without the state. There were some passionate arguments made and a lot of great idea sharing. And that’s what it’s all about! I very much look forward to seeing you all again next time. Same time, same place (Wed. March 6 from 6-9 PM @ Choppers in Cherry Creek).
