Join fellow libertarians in Denver for another fun night of social networking and fun discussion!
When: Wednesday, September 4 from 6-9 PM Where: Choppers Sports Grill | 80 S. Madison Street, Denver
Our Topic for the Night: The Revolt of the Independent Mind: Liberty and Mass Communication
Ever wondered how media influence the way people think about society? Want to know what shapes people’s beliefs about the state? Then come to LOTR this Wednesday, September 4, to hear from independent scholar Tobin Spratte, who will answer these and other questions about liberty and mass communication.
Tobin Spratte is a self-employed writer and thinker who lives in Denver, Colorado. He holds a master’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of Colorado and has written extensively on public opinion, philosophy, history, and psychology. He has authored two books, both available at Amazon.com: For the Good of All Mankind: Public Culture and the Morality of Capitalism in the United States and what he describes as “a political thriller disguised as a romance novel,” When Love Speaks.
Join your libertarian friends in Denver for another Liberty on the Rocks happy hour! We are excited to have professor Michael Huemer of CU Boulder joining us. He’ll give a short talk with Q & A about his book “The Problem with Political Authority“.
When: 7/3 from 6-9 PM (talk from 6:45-7:15) Where: Choppers Sports Grill | 80 S. Madison Street, Denver

Join one of America’s best-known constitutional scholars on the very hot topic of gun control at the next LOTR happy hour in Denver!
In addition to networking, great discussions and $5 burger/fries specials we will also be joined by special guest Rob Natelson of the Independence Institute. (learn more about Rob below!)
Whether or not you are concerned with the Constitution this discussion will give you some great “ammo” when it comes to the gun debate. Is it right to ban or limit one’s right to own guns? What if the topic were sex – would people want to issue background checks for that? After all, it results in thousands of deaths each year…
Stop by anytime! Mr. Natelson will begin his discussion around 7:15 PM.
Wednesday, April 17 from 6-9 PM Choppers Sports Grill | 80 S. Madison Street in Denver
Rob Natelson is one of America’s best-known constitutional scholars. He was formerly a tenured law professor and the top publisher on the University of Montana law faculty, where he taught, among other subjects, Constitutional Law, Constitutional History, Advanced Constitutional Law, and First Amendment. He currently resides at the Independence Institute as Senior Fellow of Constitutional Jurisprudence.
Saturday, May 4 from 2-6 PM Independence Institute | 727 E. 16th Ave. in Denver
** Cost: $60 **

Happy hour drink specials run through 6:30 so get there early!
When: Wednesday, March 6 from 6-9 PM (stop by anytime!) Where: Choppers | 80 S. Madison Street, Denver
How do you respond when someone declares, “war is good for the economy”? Or that women get paid less than men for the same work?
What about the guy who lists stats proving everything from the benefits of unions to how guns promote violence? Can you respond to these statements in a way that would appeal to those listening, or even the person you are conversing with?
If we are to plant seeds as liberty activists we must take consideration of the statements we make.
To learn important concepts related to Austrian Economics, the Liberty Philosophy and how to best communicate free market ideas, join the Liberty Empowerment Institute and Liberty on the Rocks for a fun, interactive liberty-workshop.
Through group discussion, activities and short presentations, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of economics and philosophy in addition to how to utilize these arguments when communicating with others in today’s battle for liberty.
Light breakfast and lunch will be provided and the seminar will be followed by a networking happy hour next door. Get your tickets online or pay at the door, but be sure to RSVP by emailing email@example.com!
